It is always amazing to learn about the vast amount of charitable work that the expat community undertakes each year in Kuwait. So many expats get involved in various global causes, and it is always interesting to learn more about the various good work.
One such organization, the Behbud Association of Pakistan, is very well represented in Kuwait by a local activist and entrepreneur, Aziza Khan. Aziza has brought beautiful handicraft textiles from Pakistan and helps raise awareness for the organization through exhibitions. She works with the local craftswomen to produce items that will appeal specifically to the local and expat in Kuwait.
Behbud Association is a” non-governmental, non-profit and non-political organization working for the support and strength for women in order to empower them through direct investment in the total socio-economic development of marginalized communities living in densely populated urban slums and various rural areas via educational programs and Behbud home and model schools, vocational training and health development programs.”
Through a recent event Aziza hosted in her lovely home, we were treated to many gorgeous wares these women created in the hopes of improving their lives and empowering them to better lives for them and their families.
