Last weekend we headed off for brunch at one of our favourite hangouts, Shiekh Jaber Al Ahmed Cultural Centre, to watch the fabulous dancing foutains and enjoy a delicious bite to eat at Baker & Spice.
Baker & Spice, a brand from the UAE, reminds me of a London eaterie, renowned for their organic, local, fresh & home made produce never let us down, (even when we have ordered for events they always come up trumps!) A menu that has edible delights for all diets, pescatarian, flexatarian, vegetarian, vegan etc....with servings that are exceedingly generous (we always go home with a doggie bag) its perfect for everyone!
Whether you're looking for somewhere to go for a coffee, or a full blown dinner with all the trimmings (yes you can order amazing additional sides if you need), its an ideal choice, and of course, who can argue with the stunning location, whether you choose JACC or Souq Sharq, you wont be disappointed?
Our family (who consists of a vegetarian, and avid meat eaters) chose the spinach falafel, seafood pasta, an ENORMOUS steak (that couldnt be finished, it came home with us), bresaola, foccacia with fresh mozzerella and baby tomatoes, potato wedges (actually they were perfect fat chips, crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside), as well as yummy mocktails, fresh juices (they don't serve soft drinks, they're not organic or fresh) and smooth, freshly brewed coffee. Every morsel was enjoyed and savoured, making a choice of what to eat from the extensive menu took us a while, though there were pictures on the ipad menu to help us with the decision...oh, and did I mention the home baked bread that served whilst we're waiting for our meal?
As always we were far to busy enjoying our meal to take photos, so the photos we have shared are from The Baker & Spice instagram account, but we can assure you, the food & location DOES look like this!
Baker & Spice are open daily 10am-10pm at Souk Sharq, Marina Side & JACC
