The Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a boasts a wide range of restaurants including, Breeze, which offers oriental and international buffets plus an extensive a la carte menu and traditional Swiss dishes.

During the week from 6am – 10:30am they serve a buffet breakfast, offering live cooking stations and on a Friday a brunch is offered from 12:30pm – 4.30pm also offering live cooking stations, occasional live entertainment, childrens’ activities in the cooler months and more. Good news for families is that children aged 2 – 11 are half price.

Our son had a friend sleep over, so instead of cooking breakfast for them at home, we headed for the Movenpick, possibly a little later than planned as it was already pretty full with many families enjoying the breakfast buffet spread.

The buffet had plenty to offer from your fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, cold meats and cheeses to your hot food but at times we felt that the staff struggled a little keeping the buffet stations full and fresh. With the demand at the live cooking stations, the chefs’ worked overtime to keep the queue short but that is not to say that my cheese and mushroom omelet was not made to perfection.

The boys liked the idea of an all you could eat brunch, for them it was like being a chameleon in a smartie box with the choice but they started with cheese, fruit, turkey ham, hash browns and of course a donut (yes, a donut) with some juice; this was followed by omelet and finished off with waffles and chocolate. By now, there was no chance of them going back for any more, so they went to the beach to work it off on the playground apparatus.

Our dishes were not dissimilar, but equally enjoyable; and we left the delicious pastries until last and enjoyed these with a cappuccino.

Apart from the cooking stations being very busy, it is good value and the only recommendation I would make is to get there early, so that you can enjoy what is on offer with perhaps less crowd and not having to worry about the 10.30 cut off, which is quite understandable as they need to prepare for the brunch.
