I have been living in Kuwait for the past decade, and have been fortunate to form close friendships with some wonderful local and non-local people living here, this is why Ramadan in Kuwait always feels so festive to me; I get to enjoy all the traditions and especially the culinary experiences that Ramadan has to offer!
I have shared a couple of articles and reviews about some of my culinary experiences in Kuwait, so this week I decided to write about my latest lovely Iftar Buffet at the Courtyard by Marriott.
The oriental theme set-up in warm and traditional colors welcomed us in, along with the lovely restaurant Manager, who was greeting every single guest as they entered.
We were welcomed with special Ramadan beverages, traditional dates and sweets (dried fruits and nuts) and my friend had actually started her buffet journey at the sweets section, with authentic desserts.
I, for one, chose to start with the delicious, colorful salads and appetizers, as well as the famous cheese that I previously heard Courtyard is well known for. Everything tasted delicious and fresh, with the bell pepper salad as my top favourite (the best of its kind I’ve had so far!).
The restaurant was nearly full, yet the arrangement of the live stations was very well thought of, as we had plenty of space to access the stations (and no queuing was necessary).
We both enjoyed the surprisingly wide selection of cuisines (namely International, Indian, Italian, Mediterranean, Arabic and local dishes) in addition to the live cooking stations.
We have tried a little bit of everything, and I can honestly say I was surpised to not have known about this place earlier! Would definitely like to visit their restaurant again.
