HORECA 2015 was held at the Jumeirah Messila Beach Hotel & Spa this past week. This annual hospitality industry expo featured many food industry exhibitors, culinary arts displays, and cooking contests. The competition was fierce as many of Kuwait's local chefs competed in several contests: including ice carving, chocolate sculptures, and sandwich making.
This was the fourth year of the event and visitors were invited to watch more than 200 chefs competing in more than 17 different competition highlighting the region’s latest culinary concepts and trends and meet a panel of international judges from Europe and the Middle East.
Some of the exhibitors there included Catering, supermarket, kitchen and laundry equipment, Furniture, fixtures & design, Tableware, uniforms, linens & guest amenities, Packaging technology, and so on. Although the event was geared toward business to business networking and marketing, as devout foodies, we found it fascinating. We went back twice, and really, next year, will plan to spend more time there. Kudos to the organizers, really great event.
